How to install Dreamweaver Extensions using the Extension Manager.

divaPOP opens external links and pdf links in webstandards compliant popup windows without any need for you to add "hooks" of any kind to your page. Some similar scripts you willl find elsewhere require that you manually edit each and every link, adding rel attribute with some special value. Hardly a time-saver. Not so with divaPOP.

divaPOP can optionally add a rel="nofollow" attribute to the Anchor tag of external links for you, automatically.. This bonus feature of the Extension helps Search Engines. In fact it was specifically requested by Google, as you will learn as you read more about rel="nofollow".

How to open divaPOP

With a page open in the Design or Code View window, either find the diva tab of the InsertBar, and click on the divaPOP icon:

Adding divaPOP to your page

Now with the User Interface open, you can add divaPOP in just a few steps. The only required steps are to, well...

  1. click the OK button.

That's it! That really is the only required step. It's just that easy. Of course there are several options, including an option to add divaPOP to numerous pages all at once!

When you own divaPOP, you'll see a Help button in the User Interface which will take you to complete instructions for the easy customizing you can do right within the interface! We also supply you with several CSS classes that allow you to optionally override User Interface settings, as well as a class that can be added to Anchors that will make divaPOP work on local links for any file extension, such as .htm, .php, .swf, or even .jpg!. You will receive a pdf file with these detailed instructions. Some screenshots follow.

When you are done

You merely need to upload to your server:

  • The folder /diva/ with its contents (which divaPOP added to your Site automatically). Notice that the diva folder needs to be in the site root.These files are static, so need to be uploaded only once, (unless of course you edit the CSS file or add your own images.)
